Today I began the lovely task of looking at my current code and figuring out how to refactor it so that it will fit my new scope. I had originally rushed the coding by having 90% of it located in one class and though it works, it is not the best thing to keep as I build on my original idea.
As much fun as that is, I decided to explain a little bit about some of the background of the setting. I had originally thought of the premise as the player being fortunate enough to get on a ship that is trying to out run the end of the universe/galaxy, but being stuck as a fast food worker on the ship. I had never thought of a valid reason as to why there is a fast food resutarant on the ship but I finally came up with a potential excuse. So the only reason that the ship (and other ships like it) were able to be created was because they were funded by multibillion dollar franchise companies. So the of course if they are going to help fund the project, there has to be one on there and people to work at it. How else are they going to spread their franchise if/when they survive this cataclysmic event? Maybe there are a variety of ships that have their own, chain attached to them. Anyways it's a start for getting a coherent backstory to this weird world but I cannot wait to think of how I can spin this!
Regards,
Mark
